Ar-Rasheed Smart University presents its annual performance report to the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research: A commitment to excellence and an active partnership in shaping the academic future.
In a step that reflects institutional transparency and Ar-Rasheed Smart University's commitment to continuous improvement and development, the university presented its annual performance report for the 2023–2024 academic year on Sunday, June 1, 2025 before the Annual Performance Report Review Committee at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. This presentation was part of the ministry's program to assess the academic and administrative performance of public and private universities and community colleges.
The official meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters, was attended by distinguished academic leaders and experts, including Dr. Ilham Al-Sanbani – Vice Chair of the Report Review Committee, Mr. Hassan Ez-Addin – Ministry Advisor, and committee members leading various thematic areas. The university’s delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar – the rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University, alongside Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul hameed AShuja’a – Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Luqman – Undersecretary for Higher Education and Chair of the Review Committee, welcomed the university's delegation, expressing his appreciation for this initiative that reinforces institutional accountability and evaluation. He remarked: “Since its inception, Ar-Rasheed Smart University has gained attention for its strong infrastructure and ambitious leadership, represented by Prof. Dr. Abdullatif Haidar. We hold great expectations that it will be one of Yemen’s leading universities.”
Following this, Dr. Abdulhameed AShuja’a presented a detailed overview of the annual report, covering key aspects such as General university data, Strategic planning, Governance and leadership, Education and learning, Digital transformation and automation, Student activities, Training and development, Faculty members, Financial and administrative affairs, Community service Projects, challenges, and recommendations
Each aspect was discussed by committee specialists, who provided technical feedback and development recommendations, fostering an interactive and productive environment that strengthened the partnership for improving university performance.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Luqman commended Ar-Rasheed Smart University for its extensive efforts, emphasizing the importance of performance reports in tracking indicators, addressing shortcomings, and achieving higher education goals. He stated: “These discussions highlight the practical integration between the ministry and universities, contributing to a more effective and progressive academic system.”
For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdullatif Haidar –the rector of the University, expressed his pride in the positive engagement with the ministry’s committee, affirming that: “Ar-Rasheed Smart University is committed to its national and academic mission, driven by strategic planning, modern technologies, and the development of a new generation equipped with tools of the era to actively contribute to comprehensive development.”
At the end of the meeting, the university delegation extended gratitude and appreciation to the ministry’s leadership and report review committee, emphasizing the significance of such evaluations as a platform for assessing performance, enhancing competitiveness, and driving progress in higher education in Yemen.
