Accounting Students at Ar-Rasheed Smart University: A Distinctive Field Experience Bridging Theoretical Knowledge with Practical Application at the Institute of Financial and Economic Sciences

In line with its mission to cultivate a qualified generation capable of bridging the gap between theory and practice, and applying academic knowledge in real-world environments, Ar-Rasheed Smart University—represented by the Accounting Program (Level 3 – English)—organized today a distinguished field visit to the Institute of Financial and Economic Sciences under the Ministry of Finance. The visit was supervised by Dr. Abdullah Al-Tayeb, Head of the Accounting Department, and Dr. Amin Al-Adhrani, faculty member at the faculty.

The visit, which included 45 male and female students, aimed to empower participants to connect theoretical coursework—particularly the Governmental Accounting course—with practical applications within public sector institutions. This initiative contributes to refining their expertise and broadening their future perspectives.

During the visit, Dr. Amin Al-Adhrani delivered a detailed presentation on the Accounting Financial Management Information System (AFMIS), explaining its role in automating the government’s financial and accounting systems. He also reviewed its mechanisms in preparing the general budget and the chart of accounts for resources and expenditures.

Students also benefited from an insightful presentation by Dr. Najeeb Al-Mushki, who discussed the documentation cycle in governmental accounting and the implementation of AFMIS across government sectors.

At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Abdullah Al-Tayeb and Dr. Amin Al-Adhrani expressed their sincere appreciation to the institute’s leadership for the valuable information and support provided to ensure the success of this educational experience. The visit also included the participation of Ms. Sanar Al-Qadasi, Secretary of the Dean of the faculty of Finance and Business.

For their part, the students expressed great satisfaction with the practical insights and firsthand exposure to the government financial system, praising the warm reception and the richness of discussions that enhanced their professional and academic awareness.
