As part of Ar-Rasheed Smart University's commitment to fostering logical thinking and enhancing students' cognitive abilities, the Student Activities Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the University Student Forum, continued today, Saturday, March 1, 2025, the final round of the faculty Chess League Championship, as part of the university's third Sports Olympiad
The final match was held between student Salah Sharaf and Abdulrahman Al-Hashedi, where Salah Sharaf secured victory over his opponent, clinching the championship title in the faculty chess tournament.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, Dean of Student Affairs, congratulated the winner, Salah Sharaf, on his remarkable achievement in the faculty chess championship, praising his outstanding performance and advanced strategic thinking. He also expressed his appreciation for all participating students for their enthusiasm and engagement, emphasizing that such activities contribute to developing their cognitive skills and fostering positive competition.
The Dean of Student Affairs added that Ar-Rasheed Smart University places great importance on sports and intellectual activities, always striving to organize tournaments that help discover and refine talents. He noted that the success of this championship reflects students’ deep passion for this historic intellectual sport.
For his part, champion Salah Sharaf expressed his joy at this achievement, emphasizing that the tournament was filled with challenges and competitive matches, and thanked his colleagues and mentors for their continuous support.
It is worth noting that the faculty Chess League Championship is part of the series of sports events organized by Al-Rasheed Smart University within the framework of the university’s third Sports Olympiad, which aims to promote sports and intellectual activities among students and discover and nurture young talents.
With this accomplishment, Salah Sharaf adds his name to the university’s list of chess champions, awaiting more competitions and challenges at the local and national levels.
