Ar-Rasheed Smart University Receives the Comprehensive Encyclopedia on "The Reciprocal Effects of Yemeni Migration" from Al-Khair Social Development Foundation
In a remarkable display of collaboration between educational, research, and development institutions, Ar-Rasheed Smart University officially received a copy of the comprehensive encyclopedia on “The Reciprocal Effects of Yemeni Migration” on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The encyclopedia was prepared by Al-Khair Social Development Foundation under the generous patronage of Dr. Alwan Al-Shaibani, a pioneer in Yemeni tourism, may Allah bless him.
وقد The handover ceremony was attended by Dr. Amr bin Ma’ad Yakreb Al-Hamdani, a member of the Shura Council, and Mr. Al-Ezzi Al-Salwi, Advisor to the Ministry of Expatriate Affairs and a member of the declaration committee. They were warmly received by Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University.
During the reception, Dr. Haidar expressed his profound appreciation, stating: “Receiving this valuable encyclopedia is a significant addition to the university’s library. It highlights the importance of scholarly documentation on Yemeni migration as a key historical and societal issue. We take great pride in this national effort and extend our sincere gratitude to Al-Khair Social Development Foundation and all researchers who contributed to this pioneering work.”
The guests also elaborated on the extensive efforts involved in preparing the encyclopedia over a period of four years, featuring in-depth field studies and analyses on the effects of Yemeni migration across multiple regions, including Southeast Asia, East Africa, Europe, the United States, Canada, and the Gulf countries. The encyclopedia also explores historical migration motives and the contributions of Yemeni migrants to political, economic, and cultural development in host countries.
Dr. Al-Hamdani noted that the encyclopedia comprises nine volumes with contributions from over 40 researchers. It serves as a national reference, documenting the achievements of Yemenis abroad while presenting their civilized image across diverse fields.
Copies of the encyclopedia have been officially deposited in the university’s central library, making it accessible to researchers, students, and scholars. This initiative aligns with the university’s ongoing commitment to scientific research and the provision of high-quality reference materials.
