Ar-Rasheed Smart University enhances the readiness of its staff with a specialized course in psychological first aid.

في In a step that reflects Ar-Rasheed Smart University's awareness of the importance of mental health and its role in supporting institutional stability, the Student Affairs Deanship, represented by the Psychological Counseling Unit and the Human Resources Department, organized today a specialized training course titled “Psychological First Aid in Times of Crisis.” The course targeted the university’s administrative staff as part of its efforts to enhance both human and professional skills among its employees.

The course was delivered by Dr. Ali Wahban, Professor of Mental Health and Psychotherapy, who covered key aspects such as providing initial psychological support during disasters and crises, mitigating the effects of psychological trauma, and fostering a culture of psychological care within the university work environment. The training included several practical and conceptual topics, most notably: principles of psychological first aid, effective intervention methods, and practical exercises for handling psychological crises.

During the course’s opening, Professor Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, Dean of Student Affairs, emphasized the importance of this training in preparing a workforce that possesses both human sensitivity and professional expertise. He stressed that “Al-Rasheed Smart University does not build its institutions solely on academic competencies but also on a conscious humanitarian spirit capable of providing assistance in the most challenging circumstances.”

At the conclusion of the course, Mr. Osama Al-Zumr, Director of Human Resources, expressed his deep gratitude to Ms. Aziza Al-Shaibani, Head of the Psychological Counseling Unit, and Dr. Ali Wahban, commending their efforts in making this training initiative a success. He also underscored the importance of continuing such programs that enhance workplace quality and open new horizons for psychological awareness within the university institution.

Participants expressed their satisfaction with the training outcomes, praising the quality of content, presentation, and practical applications included in the course. They also affirmed the necessity of sustaining such specialized programs that contribute to strengthening their psychological and professional skills, enabling them to efficiently manage stress and crises in the workplace.
