Ar-Rasheed Smart University and Ar-Rasheed Modern Schools start Academic and Career Guidance Program for High School Students: A Strategic Step Toward Shaping Future Leaders
In a scene that embodies the deep belief that investing in people is the key to shaping the future, Ar-Rasheed Smart University and Ar-Rasheed Modern Schools started the “Academic and Career Guidance Program”—a pioneering initiative aimed at empowering high school students to confidently and consciously shape their future paths. This program is the result of a constructive collaboration between the university’s Language and Skills Center and the Department of Activities and Specialized Programs – Social Services Division at the schools. It marks a pivotal milestone in students’ journey toward self-discovery and identifying academic and career paths aligned with their aspirations.
The program commenced on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with the participation of 102 male and female students. It will run for six days and aims to help students explore their academic and professional interests, discover available opportunities, and enhance their ability to make informed decisions. It also focuses on developing planning skills, situational management, and instilling a spirit of initiative and responsibility.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Faisal Al-Zubairi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ar-Rasheed Smart University, expressed his pride in launching the program, emphasizing that early academic and career guidance is the cornerstone of building a promising future. He added, “We believe that true investment begins with human development. This program reflects the vision of the university and schools in creating a comprehensive and modern educational environment that enables students to chart their paths with confidence
In closing, the Chairman thanked the university’s Languages and Skills Center and the Activities Department at Ar-Rasheed Modern Schools, praising their efforts in organizing and coordinating the program. He affirmed that this collaboration reflects a unified team spirit and offers a distinctive educational experience that motivates students to excel.
For his part, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, rector of the University, stated that the program is a model of integration between general and higher education. It aims to bridge the gap between school, university, and the labor market, empowering students to shape their future with clarity and confidence. He urged students to make the most of the program, noting that real investment begins with self-awareness and belief in one’s ability to achieve dreams
Professor Dr. Abdulhameed AShuja’, Dean of Language and Skills Center, affirmed that the program includes a set of integrated activities such as training courses and workshops designed to develop personal and professional skills. It will culminate in a final exhibition showcasing students’ activities and outcomes, along with a recognition ceremony for participants
Dr. AShuja’ explained that this program represents a significant milestone in students’ lives and contributes to opening new horizons toward a clearer and more confident future.
The opening was attended by several educational and administrative leaders, including Mr. Salah Al-Hajj, General Director of Ar-Rasheed Modern Schools; Mr. Mohammed Al-Qalisi, Director of the Activities Department; and Ms. Aziza Al-Shaibani, Program Supervisor. They all emphasized the importance of such programs in supporting students psychologically and intellectually and preparing them for future stages.
