Medical and surgery students at Ar-Rasheed Smart University undergo heart and lung dissection training — a scientific experience that embodies the integration of theory and practice.

In a scene that embodies a passion for knowledge and hands-on learning, third-year medical and general surgery students at Ar-Rasheed Smart University carried out a distinguished practical training session in the anatomy lab on campus. The session focused on dissecting the heart and lungs of animal specimens and comparing them to human anatomy, under the supervision of Dr. Salim Al-Riyashi and Dr. Ali Haidrah, as part of the “Human Body Anatomy” course

The training aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the vital anatomical structure of the heart and lungs, while deepening their grasp of the anatomical and physiological differences between humans and animals. This approach strengthens students’ analytical and comprehension skills and prepares them for real-world medical practice

An additional component of the training involved wound suturing techniques using the latest methods, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to refining surgical skills from the early stages of medical education

Commenting on the initiative, Dean of faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ikram Al-Iryani, stated: “At Ar-Rasheed Smart University, we believe that a successful doctor is not shaped by knowledge alone, but by practice, experience, and critical thinking. That’s why we are committed to equipping our students with all the skills necessary to become competent and creative professionals in the medical field. This training is a living example of integrating theory with practice and is part of our strategic vision to graduate doctors of high competence and responsibility.

It is worth noting that Ar-Rasheed Smart University continues its efforts to offer a unique educational experience built on innovation, modern teaching practices, and connecting students with their professional fields from day one
