Under the patronage of the rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haider, and within the university's continuous efforts to enhance practical education and bridge academic knowledge with real-world industrial applications, the Pharmacy Department organized a field visit on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, for fourth-year students to Star Plus Pharmaceutical Industries Factory. The visit aimed to strengthen the practical aspects of education and link them with theoretical curricula
The visit was supervised by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Ikram Al-Iryani, alongside the Head of the Pharmacy Department, Dr. Salah Wajih Al-Din, and the Laboratory Supervisor at the faculty, Dr. Saleem Al-Qurashi. During the visit, students were introduced to the latest pharmaceutical manufacturing techniques and were familiarized with the various stages of production, all aligned with international quality standards.
The tour included visits to the factory's main divisions, such as the production department with its solid and liquid sections, the laboratory, the quality assurance department, and the research and development unit. Students had the opportunity to interact with experts, asking questions about production processes and discussing challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry.
The Dean of the Faculty emphasized that this field visit is part of a series of activities organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences to enhance students' skills and prepare them for the labor market. This initiative aligns with the university's vision of providing integrated education that connects theory and practice.
At the conclusion of the visit, students expressed their gratitude and happiness with the experience, which added a significant practical dimension to their academic journey. The supervisors and students extended their thanks to the management of “Star Plus” Factory, particularly Dr. Sami Al-Matari and Dr. Abdullah Sharaf, for their warm hospitality and the valuable information shared.
