Faculty of Dentistry at the university held today, Saturday, June 13, 2026, an orientation meeting for internship students in Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, in preparation for the launch of the internship phase, which represents a pivotal milestone in the students' academic and professional path.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Associate Professor Dr. Latifa Al-Najjar, the Head of the Department of Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Wael Talha, alongside the internship students.
Dr. Bashar Ishaq, Advisor to the University President for Dental Affairs, opened the meeting with a welcoming speech. He emphasized that the internship phase is one of the most important educational stages where students transition from academia to real professional practice. He noted that the university and the faculty are keen to provide all resources that contribute to building a dentist capable of competing, excelling, and serving the community efficiently.
"The internship phase represents the true turning point in a dental student's life," Dr. Bashar Ishaq said. "It is an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the years of study, and to gain practical experience that enhances readiness for the job market, qualifying them to be distinguished dentists who keep pace with scientific and professional developments."
For her part, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Associate Professor Dr. Latifa Al-Najjar, confirmed that the faculty pays special attention to internship students as they are the ambassadors of the faculty in the field. She pointed out that the upcoming phase requires commitment, discipline, and a keenness to maximize the benefit from clinical and practical experiences.

During the session, the leadership detailed the organizational and training guidelines for the upcoming phase: Training Mechanisms: Explaining the operational steps and requirements of the internship program.
Professional & Ethical Standards: Emphasizing the importance of adherence to professional ethics during the training period. Continuous Support: Confirming that the department will continue to provide academic and supervisory support to ensure achieving the desired goals.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion session where students' questions regarding the internship program and its training requirements were answered, in a positive atmosphere that reflected the faculty's keenness to maintain direct communication with its students and support their future professional careers.
