On Saturday, December 28, 2024, the rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University, Professor Abdullatif Haider, delivered a valuable lecture entitled "Modern Trends in Academic Accreditation and Ensuring the Quality of Education", organized by Development and Quality Assurance Center at the university

In the lecture, which targeted the academic leadership and faculty members at the university, the rector of the university reviewed several topics, including: • Promoting the orientation towards international standards and digitization in the evaluation and accreditation processes. • Integrating technology and scientific research into the educational process. • Promoting the orientation towards international standards and digitization in the evaluation and accreditation processes, with a focus on learning outcomes, and integrating technology and scientific research into the educational process. International cooperation and mutual recognition agreements, such as the UNESCO Global Convention on Higher Education, contribute to achieving compatibility between different educational systems.

He added that this has led to the emergence of new concepts such as micro-credentials, lifelong learning pathways, and the modification of accreditation standards to include flexible learning opportunities and non-traditional education providers such as Coursera and Udemy, among others.

He also emphasized that these trends highlight the importance of the student as a central focus in the educational process, and enhance the integration between traditional and electronic education, benefiting from learning analytics and artificial intelligence tools to improve academic and administrative performance.

He also stressed that despite the challenges represented by the lack of resources and resistance to change, quality remains an essential element in achieving competitiveness and sustainability for educational institutions.
