The Academic Council at Ar-Rasheed Smart University: A Renewed Vision and Strategic Decisions that Foster Excellence and Shape the Future.
In an era marked by rapid transformations and mounting challenges for higher education institutions, Ar-Rasheed Smart University continues to assert its distinctive presence as a beacon of knowledge and a factory for shaping the future. Guided by its renewed vision, the university weaves threads of change, building strong bridges between tradition and modernity, and opening wide horizons for future generations to craft a future worthy of their aspirations.
In this spirit, the eighth regular meeting of the Academic Council for the 1447 (2025–2026) academic year was held on the morning of Saturday, August 30, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, The rector of the University, and attended by Professor Dr. Mansour Al-Abdi, Member of the Board of Trustees, along with Dean of Student Affairs, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, faculties deans, heads of academic departments, the University Secretary-General, and the Head of the Central Control Office.
The meeting was infused with a spirit of hope and ambition, reflecting the participants’ belief that institutional excellence is the shortest path to leadership.
In his address, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar emphasized that Ar-Rasheed Smart University does not stop at achievement—it confidently advances on its journey of modernization and development. He clarified that the meeting is more than an administrative gathering; it is a platform to renew commitment to the university’s mission and vision of nurturing distinguished generations capable of making a difference and building the future.
He stated: “Today, we are not merely discussing current issues—we are shaping a long-term vision that prepares future generations to lead real transformation in their communities. Our university is not just classrooms and walls; it is a vast space that instills in students the spirit of leadership and motivates them to be active participants and creators of a promising future. Every decision we make today is a new building block in a solid academic edifice that opens doors to change and draws the contours of a better tomorrow—defined by excellence and innovation.”
The Council discussed a range of core issues central to the academic process, including the Dean’s List, which serves as a motivational driver for outstanding students, and the orientation programs for new students that embody the values of welcome and familial belonging within the university. The meeting also reviewed the faculties’ implementation plans, which include phased steps aimed at enhancing the quality of education and improving its outcomes.
Other pivotal topics were addressed, culminating in the adoption of a set of strategic decisions designed to boost academic performance, develop the university learning environment, and reinforce the university’s status as a leading model of modern education both locally and regionally.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Academic Council members reaffirmed their commitment to working as one team and exerting continuous efforts to solidify the university’s role as a space for creativity and renewal. They unanimously agreed that Ar-Rasheed Smart University will remain a pioneering academic institution, a beacon illuminating students’ paths with knowledge, and a field where dreams are transformed into reality and the future is painted with ambition and colored with innovation.
