Under the esteemed patronage of the rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, the Student Activities Administration, in collaboration with the University Students’ Forum, organized the Faculty Table Tennis League Championship on Saturday, February 8, 2025. This event is part of the Third Ar-Rasheed Olympiad Cup for Sports, held in the university’s sports hall.

The championship, which features the participation of 24 students representing various faculties and academic departments, aims to promote sportsmanship, encourage students to compete in a fair and ethical spirit, and strengthen their involvement in university sports events. It also seeks to develop their love for sports competitions, improve their physical and mental skills, and enhance their fitness, focus, and strategic planning abilities.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, highlighted the importance of this championship in developing students' athletic abilities and fostering social interaction among them. He also emphasized the university’s continuous support for such activities that contribute to shaping well-rounded student personalities.

The opening round witnessed an exciting match between Abdulrahman Sadiq Lutf Allah from Faculty of Business and Finance – English Accounting Department, and Mohammed Adel Mayas from Faculty of Engineering and Technology – IT Department. Abdulrahman Sadiq Lutf Allah emerged victorious after an impressive performance by both players.

The elimination rounds will continue in the coming days, amidst anticipation and encouragement from their peers, as the participants strive for the championship title!
