In a moment of celebration marked by pride and a spirit of belonging, Professor Abdul Lateef Haidar, Rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University, honored the winning students from the first equestrian championship and the second swimming championship, organized by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research among public and private universities. This event took place on Monday, December 1, 2025, in the rector’s office, with the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, Dean of Student Affairs.
The university demonstrated a strong presence in the university championships, with student Osama Al-Shammari (Artificial Intelligence) winning second place in equestrian competitions, and student Ahmad Al-Banna (Dentistry) securing fifth place, while student Mohammed Mayas (Information Technology) achieved third place in swimming.
During the ceremony, Professor Abdul Lateef Haidar expressed:
“Ar-Rasheed University takes pride in every achievement of its students. These successes are not merely medals or high rankings; they are evidence that we have students capable of overcoming challenges and making a difference wherever they are. We believe that integrated education combines academic knowledge with the development of personal and leadership skills, and sports are an essential part of this framework. Today we see the fruits of this approach in your accomplishments that elevate the university’s name and prove that its students can excel in every field they enter.
He added: “We will continue to support athletic activities and provide the environment that helps our students achieve creativity because we believe that the true investment lies in empowering youth and opening doors for them to reach the highest levels.”
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, Dean of Student Affairs, affirmed that the students' achievements in both championships reflect the university's commitment to nurturing students and empowering them both inside and outside the classroom. “In the Dean's office for Student Affairs, we work to provide everything necessary to create a balanced university experience that develops students' scientific, athletic, and cultural personalities,” he commented, adding that participation in university championships grants students skills no less important than academic ones, such as leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence.
Continuing, the Dean stated: “We take great pride in the fact that our students have proven that determination and consistent hard work can yield honorable results. We will continue to support them and their peers in various activities, as these achievements mark the beginning of a long path of successes that we look forward to witnessing.”
The honored students expressed their appreciation for this recognition, affirming that the university's continued support serves as a significant motivation for them to persist in training and achieve further accomplishments.
