Ar-Rasheed Smart University starts Its New Strategic Path by Inaugurating the First Workshop to Evaluate the First Strategic Plan in Preparation for the Second Strategy (2027–2031)
In a scene that confirms that institutional ambition knows no bounds and that a conscious vision is the true compass for shaping the future, Ar-Rasheed Smart University confidently moves towards a new phase of development, placing strategic planning at the forefront of its priorities. The university emphasizes that evaluation is the most crucial entry point for excellence. On Saturday, December 20, 2025, the university, represented by Development and Quality Assurance Center, started the first workshop to evaluate the previous plan (2021–2026) in preparation for the new plan (2027–2031).
The workshop took place in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and ambition, under the patronage of university president Professor Abdul Lateef Haidar, attended by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. Faisal Al-Zubaidi, board members, deans of faculties, and university staff, embodying institutional integration.
At the beginning of the workshop, presented by expert Dr. Mohammed Abdul Lateef Al-Sharjabi, Professor Abdul Hamid Al-Shuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, welcomed the participants, highlighting the importance of the workshop as a pivotal moment in the university's developmental journey. He stated, “This first workshop is part of a series to evaluate the previous strategic plan in preparation for a new plan that aligns with modern changes in higher education, with the participation of all stakeholders inside and outside the university.
Following this, Mr. Faisal Al-Zubairi expressed his pride in this conscious institutional approach, praising the efforts of the university leadership and Development and Quality Assurance Center. He emphasized that the Board of Trustees places utmost importance on strategic planning, stating: “What we are witnessing today reflects true institutional maturity and confirms that the university is moving according to a clear vision grounded in evaluation, accountability, and scientific planning, which enhances its status and ensures the sustainability of its excellence in the upcoming phase.”
For his part, Professor Abdul Lateef Haidar delivered a guiding speech, stressing that evaluating the previous strategic plan is the cornerstone of any successful future planning. He affirmed that the university is steadily progressing towards building a modern strategy that responds to challenges and aligns with changes, adding, “We believe that strategic planning is not a static document, but a dynamic process that requires continuous review and evaluation. What we are doing today is a confirmation of Ar-Rasheed Smart University’s commitment to institutional development, enhancing education quality, and strengthening its academic and community role.”
During the workshop, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Lateef Al-Sharjabi presented the stages and steps of strategy preparation, tools for strategic analysis, and internal environmental analysis, which includes institutional self-analysis, evaluation of the previous strategic plan, statistical data and indicators, annual reports, assessments of education and learning, future outlook, and beneficiary needs.
The workshop included dividing participants into working groups, where groups conducted a realistic assessment of strengths and weaknesses, and the results were presented by the group rapporteurs and discussed collectively in an atmosphere characterized by interaction, transparency, and responsibility.
This workshop is part of a series of workshops and meetings that Ar-Rasheed Smart University intends to implement as it prepares a more integrated second strategic plan built on experience, leverages successes, and addresses challenges with a clear and ambitious vision towards a more distinguished academic future.
