In an atmosphere filled with excitement and fierce competition, the Interfaculty Football Championship concluded this evening, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, as part of the third Ar-Rasheed Sports Olympiad. The final match took place at Al-Wehda Sports Club Stadium.

The final, held under the patronage of the rector of the university, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, featured a strong contest between the International Business Administration (English) team – Level 3 and 4, and the Accounting (Arabic) team – Level 2. It ended with the International Business Administration team securing a remarkable victory with a score of 10-5, thus earning the championship title after an exceptional performance.

The closing match was attended by several academic and administrative leaders, including the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, and the Dean of faculty of Finance and Business, Professor Dr. Abdul Khaleq Hadi Tawwaf, along with a large audience of students who enthusiastically followed the match’s events.

At the end of the championship, the International Business Administration (English) team was crowned as champions and awarded the championship trophy and gold medals, while the Accounting (Arabic) team received silver medals. Several outstanding players were also recognized, with Ammar Al-Arashi named Best Player, Ayman Al-Thour awarded the Top Scorer title, and Khalid Al-Heesa chosen as Best Goalkeeper.

The Dean of Student Affairs congratulated the winning team, praising the level of the championship and the performance of the participating teams. He emphasized that such events promote positive competition and help develop students' athletic and leadership skills.

In his closing remarks, he expressed gratitude to the Student Activities Department and all those involved in organizing the championship, looking forward to more sporting events that support student activities at the university.

Similarly, the Dean of faculty of Finance and Business expressed his great pride in all the teams that participated in the championship, highlighting that these competitions embodied the spirit of teamwork, cooperation, and discipline. He noted that they provided an ideal platform for showcasing students’ abilities in sports and collaborative work.

He also stressed the importance of continuing such activities, which significantly contribute to students’ personal development and hone their athletic and leadership skills, enhancing their ability to face future challenges. He added that these events reflect the college's commitment to providing a comprehensive educational environment that nurtures all aspects of students’ personalities, whether academic, athletic, or social.
