In a step reflecting Ar-Rasheed Smart University’s commitment to enhancing the employability skills of its students, the International Business Administration (English) Department at faculty of Finance and Business discussed today, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, a graduation research project titled: “Assessing Business Students Preparedness for the Workforce: A Study on Employability Skills Development among Yemeni Private University Students,” as part of the requirements for obtaining a bachelor's degree for the academic year 1446 (2024–2025).

The discussion was attended by the evaluation committee, which included Dr. Salah Sanad (Supervisor), Dr. Ziad Al-Bakheiti (External Examiner), and Dr. Jamal Al-Du’ais (Internal Examiner), in addition to representatives from the job market, including Dr. Mustafa Humaid, Head of Relations and Correspondent Banks at CAC Islamic Bank. The event also witnessed the presence of several parents and department students in an academic atmosphere rich with dialogue and meaningful discussions.

During the opening, the Dean of the faculty of Finance and Business, Professor Dr. Abdul Khaleq Hadi Tawwaf, expressed pride in the students’ efforts to prepare research addressing key issues affecting their professional future. He highlighted the importance of developing employability skills to keep pace with the rapidly evolving job market and reaffirmed the university's commitment to providing an educational environment that enhances students' competencies, contributing to their qualification as leaders in their fields.

During the discussion, the student group, comprising Najmuddin Sadiq Al-Sufyani, Omar Salem Al-Arqabban, Bassam Ali Al-Mamlouk, Al-Hussain Ali Al-Qutari, Haitham Ahmed Al-Sanhani, and Suhail Basel Alawi, presented an outstanding research project. The project represents a significant scientific contribution that highlights the major challenges business students face when transitioning to the workforce.

The research holds great importance as it addresses one of the pressing issues faced by companies operating in Yemen, which suffer from a clear gap between labor market requirements and university education outcomes. The study offered innovative solutions to enhance graduates' readiness, aligning with the university’s vision of preparing skilled individuals capable of competing and succeeding in modern work environments.

The evaluation committee praised the quality of the research and its professional presentation, commending the efforts made by the students in preparing and delivering the project. The committee emphasized that the research is not limited to being an academic study but serves as a practical model that can be utilized to develop students’ employability skills. They also expressed their best wishes to all students for a bright future filled with success and remarkable achievements.
