In a moment filled with the passion of competition, as the sound of galloping horses rises to the challenge, Ar-Rasheed Smart University captured the spotlight on Thursday, November 20, 2025, by securing second and fifth place in the First Equestrian Championship among Yemeni universities for the November 30 Cup. The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with Al-Wahda Sports Club and the General Federation for Equestrian and Camel Racing, as part of the activities of the Seventh Winter Forum held at Al-Wahda Sports Stadium.

The championship saw the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, Dean of Student Affairs at Ar-Rasheed Smart University, along with Mr. Amin Jumaan, Secretary-General of the Local Council in the Capital Secretariat and President of Al-Wahda Sports Club, Ali Hadhban, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports for Sports Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Mutaa, Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Dr. Jaber Al-Bawab, Assistant Deputy Minister of Youth, as well as Mr. Jameel Bashar, Assistant Secretary-General of the Equestrian and Camel Federation, and Abdul Karim Al-Dahhak, Director of Activities in the Higher Education Sector. Their presence reflected the event's importance and its sporting value.

The championship, which featured 26 riders representing 12 public and private universities, aimed to develop students' skills in equestrian sports and show jumping, discover promising talents, and promote the culture of equestrian sports as a noble discipline that combines strength, discipline, and balance.

In an arena filled with enthusiasm, four riders from Ar-Rasheed Smart University confidently advanced to carry the university's banner high: Amr Al-Majdoub on Tariq, Ahmad Al-Banna on Ezz Al-Arab, Hassan Al-Ashtal on Al-Abed, and Osama Al-Shammari on Al-Shamikh.

Among this strong presence, Osama Al-Shammari, a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, shone brightly with his balanced performance and precise jumps, achieving an impressive second place with merit, steadily progressing in one of the toughest university competitions.

Similarly, Ahmad Al-Banna, studying Dentistry, made a remarkable impression, securing fifth place. Meanwhile, riders Amr Al-Majdoub, specializing in Business Administration, and Hassan Al-Ashtal, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, delivered commendable contributions that reflected the spirit of teamwork and determination characteristic of the students of Ar-Rasheed Smart University.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, Dean of Student Affairs at the university, congratulated the university's riders on their honorable participation, celebrating the achievements of the two stars who clinched second and fifth place. He affirmed that this championship is a foundation for future competitions that will significantly enhance equestrian sports within the university community, aiming to establish it as a fundamental and sustainable athletic activity.

The Student Activities Administration and the student team at the university also congratulated the winning riders and expressed their gratitude to all students who attended the Al-Wahda Stadium to support their peers, showcasing the spirit of belonging and unity around student successes. They also congratulated all winning and participating riders, especially those from other universities, appreciating their commendable performance and contributions to the success of this distinguished university sports event.

At the conclusion of the races, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in the Capital Secretariat, the President of Al-Wahda Sports Club, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports for Sports Affairs, and the Director of Activities in the Higher Education Sector honored the winners of the top five positions, presenting them with trophies and colored medals in recognition of their outstanding performance and remarkable presence in the competition.

As the day filled with excitement came to an end, Ar-Rasheed Smart University reaffirmed that equestrianism is not just a sport but a spirit that shines, a determination that ignites, and a banner raised high in the skies of excellence. The riders of Ar-Rasheed have etched their names in the annals of university championships with determination and resilience, proclaiming that greater achievements lie ahead, and that their ambitions will continue to stride confidently towards the winners’ podium… where only those who carry the passion for victory and the spirit of champions may reach.
