Cybersecurity Department opens a Training Program for Third-Year Students on Vulnerability and Threat Assessment

In line with Ar-Rasheed Smart University's efforts to enhance partnerships with the job market and its commitment to equipping its students with the practical skills and experiences required in the field of cybersecurity, and recognizing the importance of training and practical application in this vital field, Cybersecurity Department at faculty of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with SecureWay Consulting and IT Solutions, implemented a training program on vulnerability and threat assessment for third-year cybersecurity students today, Sunday, January 12, 2025, on the university campus, under the patronage of the rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar

The program, which lasts for five weeks with a total of twenty intensive practical training hours, aims to enhance the practical competence of students, providing them with the basic concepts of vulnerability and threat assessment in systems and networks, understanding the nature and types of cyberattacks, and how to counter them

During the opening of the program, attended by Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Prof. Dr. Anwar Al-Dhari, Head of the Information Technology Department, Prof. Dr. Anwar Al-Shamiri, and the Secretary-General of the university, Mr. Khaled Ali Al-Khadher, the rector of the university expressed his happiness with the students' interest and active participation on the first training day. He emphasized that Ar-Rasheed University does not only aim to provide academic knowledge but also strives to prepare students comprehensively, making them capable of facing life's challenges and the job market with confidence and competence.

He also stressed that the vulnerability and threat assessment programs or training courses offered by the university are not just educational additions but real tools that enhance students' skills and open new horizons for achieving their ambitions. Today's world is witnessing increasing competition in all fields, and the job market no longer suffices with certificates alone but seeks competent individuals with practical skills and diverse experiences.

The rector of the university encouraged the participants, saying, "I urge you all to seize these opportunities and make the most of all the resources available to you through the university or external platforms. Always remember that learning is a continuous journey, and self-development is the real key to achieving success. The future belongs to those who prepare for it, so be the makers of this future and make today the starting point for achieving your dreams."

For his part, the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Prof. Dr. Anwar Al-Dhari, confirmed that the program is one of the university's efforts to achieve integration between academic and practical aspects, providing students with real opportunities to interact with real-world professional challenges. He expressed his great thanks to SecureWay Consulting and IT Solutions for their cooperation in implementing the program.
