In a world facing accelerating health challenges and an increasing demand for medication awareness and safe professional practices, the university continues its vital mission in creating knowledge and building medical competencies capable of serving society with efficiency and responsibility, driven by specialized training programs that merge science, application, and field expertise.

Under the gracious auspices of the University President, Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, Languages and Skills Center launched a specialized training course today, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, titled "Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medication Skills." The intensive course was delivered by Dr. Khaled Al-Humaidha, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Sana'a University and Ar-Rasheed Smart University.

The course target pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals, alongside students and graduates of medical colleges. This initiative reflects the university's continuous drive to advance professional skills and reinforce safe healthcare practices in line with modern scientific foundations.

Prof. Dr. Abdulhameed Ashuja', Dean of Languages and Skills Center, emphasized the profound impact of these training programs in elevating the efficiency of healthcare cadres, noting that keeping pace with evolving medical knowledge has become a necessity to meet contemporary health challenges. "We firmly believe that real investment begins with human capital—qualifying individuals scientifically and professionally," Prof. Dr. Ashuja' stated. "Therefore, we are dedicated to providing quality programs that create a real impact in the medical field, empowering participants to deliver safer, more conscious health services to the community."

The course features a diverse training methodology, integrating interactive lectures, case-based learning, hands-on practical training, group discussions, and learning from clinical errors. On its first day, the program explored the fundamentals of over-the-counter medications and the principles of safe, rational drug use, alongside the clinical assessment of common conditions and effective mechanisms to differentiate between minor and complex medical cases.
