As part of Ar-Rasheed Smart University’s commitment to excellence and continuous development, the Board of Trustees held its first meeting for the academic year 1446 (2024–2025) on Thursday, 27th February 2025, chaired by Mr. Faisal Nasser Al-Zubairi, in the university’s main meeting hall

The meeting discussed the final accounts and the estimated budget, alongside a number of important topics, including the proposal to establish a Scientific Research Unit, the launch of the Emerging Technologies Training Center, the approval of the Architectural Engineering and Artificial Intelligence programs, as well as preparations for the graduation ceremony of the university's first batch of students.

In his opening speech, Mr. Faisal Nasser Al-Zubairi praised the efforts of the council members and the university administration, affirming that the university is steadily progressing into the future, founded on principles of quality and innovation. He emphasized the importance of continuing to support developmental plans and strengthening strategic partnerships to achieve the ambitious goals set by the university for its future.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees added, “Excellence is achieved through investing in academic and administrative cadres and updating educational programs to meet modern requirements. We place the student at the heart of our priorities, striving to provide an integrated educational environment that combines academic knowledge with practical application, to ensure the graduation of competencies capable of competing and innovating locally and internationally.”

For his part, the rector of the university, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, confirmed that Ar-Rasheed Smart University continues to achieve academic and research excellence through curriculum development, the introduction of study programs that meet labor market needs, and fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students. He stressed the necessity of adopting a renewed vision and a flexible approach to keep pace with global developments in the higher education sector, noting that the support of the Board of Trustees will contribute to achieving the university’s goals in developing its academic environment, enhancing scientific research, and building strategic partnerships with local and international institutions, thereby cementing its position as a leading educational institution.

The meeting addressed several academic and administrative issues, and a number of resolutions and recommendations aimed at improving the university’s academic and administrative performance were approved.

The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Trustees, including Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, the rector of the university; Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Wazir, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Engineer Nabil Hassan Al-Madani, Secretary-General of the Board of Trustees; Mr. Mohammed Abdul Salam Mansour; Mr. Faisal Ameen Abu Raas; the university secretary-general, Mr. Khalid Ali Al-Khadr; and the director of financial affairs, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Haddad

This meeting reflects the Board of Trustees’ dedication to monitoring educational developments and ensuring the achievement of the highest academic quality standards, aligning with the university's mission to deliver high-quality education and keep pace with global advancements in higher education.
