Towards an Inspiring Academic Year Filled with Activities and Values: The Student Activities Department at Ar-Rasheed Smart University Actively Participates in the Expanded Meeting of Student Activities Directors at Universities and Community Faculties
Reaffirming its commitment to engagement and participation in events and meetings organized by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Ar-Rasheed Smart University, represented by its Student Activities Department, took part in the Expanded Meeting of Student Activities Directors at Universities and Community Faculties. The event was organized by the Higher Education Sector of the ministry in collaboration with Sam Entertainment Club on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Sana’a.
Held under the slogan "You Are Not Alone" and marking the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Yemen, the meeting discussed mechanisms for organizing graduation ceremonies at universities and educational institutions. It also approved the student activities plan and schedule for the 1447 academic year, aiming to strengthen national identity and ethical values among students.
The event saw notable official attendance, led by Dr. Ahmed Sanad, Director of the Minister’s Office for Education and Scientific Research, who emphasized in his speech the importance of universities adhering to educational guidelines when organizing graduation events. He stressed the need for strict compliance with ministry-issued instructions, as they play a crucial role in instilling faith-based and national values in students.
Meanwhile, Mr. Abdulkarim Al-Dhahak, Director General of Activities in the Higher Education Sector, highlighted the meeting’s goal of activating universities’ role in managing and implementing student activities in a balanced manner. He underscored that no graduation ceremony should be held without prior approval from the ministry, and that cultural and societal traditions must be respected in all student activities.
The new academic year’s plan includes more than 40 diverse activities covering religious, cultural, sports, scientific, and social fields, aiming to develop students’ skills and refine their intellectual and creative talents, as student activities are considered a key pillar of the educational process.
Ar-Rasheed Smart University appreciate these national initiatives and reaffirms its continuous commitment to positively engaging with ministerial directives.
