Ar-Rasheed Smart University Implements an Entrepreneurship Workshop and an Exhibition of Student Entrepreneurial Projects
Ar-Rasheed Smart University, represented by the Entrepreneurship Forum and in cooperation with the Business Support Center (BSC), one of the projects of the Yemeni Business Club (YBC), implemented an entrepreneurship workshop and an exhibition of student entrepreneurial projects on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, as part of the activities and events of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024.
During the opening of the workshop, which was attended by the rector of the University, Professor Dr. Abdullatif Haidar, Dean of Student Affairs, Dean of faculty of Dentistry, Head of Accounting Department, the Secretary-General of the University, and the Yemeni Business Club (YBC) consultant, as well as a number of academic staff and interested students,
the Dean of faculty of Finance and Business and the Supervisor of the Entrepreneurship Forum, Professor Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, welcomed all attendees and participants in the event,
which he expressed his great appreciation for their interaction and interest in entrepreneurship, thanked the management of the Business Support Center (BSC) for their participation in the event by providing an entrepreneurship workshop for the students, emphasizing that the university is keen to spread the importance of the innovation and entrepreneurship culture, supporting and sponsoring the talented and incubating their entrepreneurial projects, and highlighting their role in building and developing the community.
For her part, the Yemeni Business Club (YBC) consultant, presented the training workshop, which included many topics related to the entrepreneurship and entrepreneur skills.
The workshop also included discussions, questions, and inquiries from the students, which were answered by the workshop presenter.
The workshop was concluded with a guiding speech by the rector of the University in which he emphasized that entrepreneurship is the tremendous power and human spirit that has made it possible to achieve great discoveries in the world, as it is a vital activity to bring about changes in the economy and society, not only in a particular country but also around the world.
He pointed out in his speech that the successful entrepreneur must create something new and valuable by dedicating the necessary time and effort, bearing the financial, psychological, and social risks involved, and obtaining the rewards resulting from monetary, personal, and independent satisfaction; stressing that the successful entrepreneur and businessman needs to be bold enough to bear the risks involved in his project, and must be a risk-taker and able to bear the risks even if he fails once or in one project, he must continue so that he can ultimately achieve success.
During the tour of the exhibition, the rector of University and his companions expressed their happiness at the great interaction and interest in entrepreneurship by the students, and what they saw of the diversity and innovation in the ways of presenting the entrepreneurial projects, stressing that there are many creative ideas in entrepreneurship among the university students, as most of the displayed projects can be transformed in the future into massive entrepreneurial projects.
The exhibition included a variety of entrepreneurial projects, the most important of which were: Smart Incense, Scented Candles, Blockchain Technologies, Handicrafts, Bags, Flavored Waters, Sweets, Perfumes and Fragrances, Abayas, Clothes, Hand Embroidery, Beverages, Food, and other student entrepreneurial projects.
