As part of its social responsibility and commitment to the health and safety of its members, Ar-Rasheed Smart University in collaboration with the European Center for Optics and Audiology , launched the “Early Intervention to Prevent Visual Impairment” campaign on Sunday, February 2, 2025. The campaign targets students, academic staff, and administrative personnel, aiming for early detection of vision and hearing problems to prevent their progression.
The two-day campaign was inaugurated under the patronage of the rector of the university, Professor Dr. Abdul-Latif Haidar, in the presence of the University Secretary General, Mr. Khaled Ali Al-Khadher, the coordinator of the European Center, Mr. Ahmed Al-Bashari, alongside the specialized medical team, academics, administrators, and students.
The campaign's objective is to identify and diagnose cases with visual and auditory issues, provide necessary medical examinations, and refer cases requiring therapeutic or surgical intervention to specialists. It also includes offering medical consultations and advice on maintaining eye and ear health
During the inauguration, the rector of the university expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the European Center for Optics and Audiology, highlighting the fruitful cooperation in serving the academic community. He emphasized the importance of early detection in improving the academic and professional quality of life for students and staff.
The campaign witnessed significant participation from university members, with the medical team conducting comprehensive examinations for the attendees and providing each individual with a diagnostic report on their vision and hearing levels.
This initiative underscores Ar-Rasheed Smart University's commitment to not only offering quality education but also fostering a healthy and sustainable academic community.
