The launch, held by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences – Department of Pharmacy, coincided with the celebration of World Pharmacists Day. This cutting-edge educational tool harnesses technology to enhance academic training, offering a realistic simulation of operational pharmacies and serving as a practical lab that bridges theoretical knowledge with professional practice. The Virtual Pharmacy aims to empower pharmacy students to perform key pharmacist duties in a simulated environment—including dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions, and guiding patients on safe drug use. It also fosters communication skills, builds trust, and reinforces awareness of the importance of rational drug use.

As part of its commitment to cultivating a conscious academic generation capable of applying the latest scientific methodologies in medical practice, Department of Pharmacy at Ar-Rasheed Smart University, in collaboration with the University Student Forum, organized a scientific lecture titled “Introduction to Evidence-Based Medicine,” delivered by Dr. Sayyida Al-Jumai, PhD in Clinical Pharmacy. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ikram Fadhl Al-Iryani, alongside a distinguished group of faculty members and pharmacy students. The lecture focused on introducing students to the concept of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) and its importance in supporting medical decision-making based on reliable scientific information. It covered key topics such as searching medical databases, identifying credible sources of information, evaluating the validity of scientific studies and research, and linking study findings to daily clinical practice. The session also highlighted the role of clinical pharmacists in promoting optimal, evidence-based treatment.

In this spirit, faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in collaboration with the University Student Forum, organized a specialized awareness lecture on Saturday, September 20, 2025. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Somaya Al-Areeqi, a specialist in healthcare quality and patient safety at the Royal faculty of Surgeons in Ireland. The event took place on campus and was attended by Dr. Salah Wajih Al-Din, Head of Pharmacy Department, and Dr. Fayrouz Atroosh, Head of the Laboratory Medicine Department.

In the halls of Ar-Rasheed Smart University—where aspirations intersect with strategic visions and academic ambitions evolve into tangible steps toward the future—the university continues its journey to embed a culture of quality and establish pillars of academic accreditation. In this context, and in collaboration with the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education, the university organized an extensive training workshop on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, dedicated to technical support for preparing self-assessment studies for seven academic programs submitted for programmatic accreditation: Laboratory Medicine, Information Technology, Graphics and Multimedia, International Business Administration (English), Business Administration (Arabic), and Accounting (Arabic and English). This workshop builds upon the recently signed agreement between the university and the council, reflecting the university’s commitment to implementing the highest standards of academic quality

In the realm of hands-on experience, where theoretical knowledge meets the depth of practical reality—and in alignment with Ar-Rasheed Smart University’s vision to prepare well-rounded medical professionals equipped with solid skills and real-world expertise—fourth-year Medical Laboratory students conducted a field visit on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, to the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center, under the supervision of faculty member Dr. Mutahar Abu Hadi. This field visit offered students a direct opportunity to explore the center’s departments, beginning with reception and blood donation, followed by the Infectious Diseases Testing Unit, Blood Separation and Component Analysis, Immunohematology (Serology), and concluding with the Blood Storage and Component Preservation Unit. The visit provided students with a comprehensive understanding of how these departments contribute to strengthening the healthcare system and saving lives.
