Ar-Rasheed Smart University Celebrates Its Medical Laboratory Students' Graduation Projects in an Inspiring Academic Environment

Within On the morning of Sunday, May 18, 2025, the university campus witnessed vibrant academic discussions as three graduation research projects were presented by students from the Medical Laboratory Department at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. These projects were part of the requirements for earning a bachelor’s degree for the 2024–2025 academic year.
The discussions took place in the Grand Hall, attended by the rector of the University Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, Dean of Student Affairs Professor Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Professor Dr. Ikram Al-Eryani, and Head of the Medical Laboratory Department Dr. Fayrouz Atroosh, alongside University Secretary Khaled Ali Al-Khader, faculty members, and students.
During the sessions, the rector of the University Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar expressed his pride in the university’s academic and research achievements, stating: "These research projects are not just graduation requirements; they are the first steps toward research and professional leadership, a true indicator of our students' readiness to enter the healthcare field with confidence and competence."
Similarly, Dean Dr. Ikram Al-Eryani celebrated the graduation of the first batch of Medical Laboratory students, describing the moment as the fruit of years of dedication, hard work, and ambition. She added: "Today, we bid farewell to a promising group of students, carrying in our hearts all hope and confidence in them. They are the ambassadors of this faculty in the field of medical laboratory sciences, carrying the banner of excellence in the future of healthcare and precise diagnostics."
The research projects covered critical medical topics, including:
• The relationship between Helicobacter pylori infection, gender, and age among patients visiting central public health laboratories in Sana’a.
The second research project group, presented by Albatoal Ibrahim Al-Matari, Basma Waleed Jahaf, Thuraya Hani, and Khalil Abbas, explores:
• The correlation between three new inflammatory markers in hypertensive patients within the Yemeni community.
Each project was evaluated by specialized scientific committees, featuring distinguished professors and experts such as Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Joufi, Dr. Bushra Al-Absi, Dr. Ghamdan Al-Tahesh, alongside the Dean of the Faculty and the Head of the Department.
• Kidney function tests in patients with major thalassemia in Sana’a.
Each project was evaluated by specialized scientific committees, featuring distinguished professors and experts such as Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Joufi, Dr. Bushra Al-Absi, Dr. Ghamdan Al-Tahesh, alongside the Dean of the Faculty and the Head of the Department.
At the closing of the event, the committees praised the high quality of the research, noting that it reflects scientific maturity and strong analytical skills among students. They emphasized that these projects contribute to developing the healthcare sector in Yemen.
