Ar-Rasheed Smart University plays an active role in approving the regulatory framework for the Medicine and Surgery program at Yemeni universities

In a move that reflects its steadfast commitment to advancing medical education and enhancing academic programs, Ar-Rasheed Smart University participated on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the national workshop dedicated to discussing and approving the regulatory framework for the Medicine and Surgery program at Yemeni universities. The workshop, organized by the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, was held under the framework of the hybrid integrated education system.

Representing the university were Prof. Dr. Ikram Fadhl Al-Iryani, Dean of faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Mr. Qaed Al-Jaafari, University Registrar, alongside a distinguished group of deans and vice-deans of medical faculties, registrars from public and private universities, medical education experts, and key stakeholders involved in the program

The workshop aimed to enrich, review, and finalize the draft of the regulatory framework in preparation for its official adoption, contributing to the improvement of medical education quality and the standardization of its criteria across the Republic

Prof. Dr. Ikram Al-Iryani emphasized that the hybrid integrated system is one of the leading modern educational models, combining basic and clinical medical sciences in a cohesive manner from the early stages of study. It also incorporates the latest technologies in education and training, helping to prepare highly competent medical professionals with advanced skills.

She added that the workshop served as a vital platform to introduce the framework and its objectives, highlight the key challenges students face in their academic journey, and discuss the academic standards that must be upheld to ensure the quality of educational outcomes

The Dean expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, as well as to all experts and institutions that contributed to the development of the framework. She hoped this step would mark the beginning of a more advanced and globally aligned future for medical education in Yemen.
