Ar-Rasheed Smart University organizes a welcoming ceremony for new students and honors top achievers on the Dean's List at the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

In an atmosphere filled with pride and ambition, Ar-Rasheed Smart University—represented by faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Student Activities Department and the University Student Forum—held a welcoming ceremony on Tuesday morning, September 2, 2025, for new students at the faculty, alongside an honors celebration for top achievers on the Dean’s List. The event was graciously sponsored by the rector of the university Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, and served as a reflection of the university’s mission to build a pioneering academic environment that embraces students from their very first steps to their ascent toward excellence and leadership.
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the national anthem. Then, Prof. Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, Dean of Student Affairs, delivered an opening speech welcoming the new students. He emphasized that Ar-Rasheed Smart University is their second home and a broad arena for building knowledge and skills.
He stated: “Joining the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences today is not merely an academic step—it marks the beginning of a life journey crowned with learning and achievement. Let diligence, commitment, and ethics be the guiding principles of your path, and strive to be role models in excellence and contribution.”
The Dean also congratulated the outstanding students on the Dean’s List, praising their achievements and encouraging them to continue their journey of excellence and leadership, becoming ambassadors of Ar-Rasheed Smart University.
For her part, Prof. Dr. Ikram Fadhl Al-Iryani, Dean of faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, expressed her joy in welcoming a new cohort of students in the fields of Medicine and Surgery, Doctor of Pharmacy, General Pharmacy, and Laboratory Medicine. She noted that since its founding, the university has committed to being a distinguished academic model in Yemen, combining quality education with research leadership.
She affirmed that the faculty would be a second home for the students, offering care and academic support from dedicated faculty who place their students’ futures at the forefront. She also congratulated the Dean’s List honorees for the academic year 1446, wishing them continued brilliance and success.
In a speech on behalf of the University Student Forum, student Asaad Al-Sunaidar emphasized that the university is not just a place of classrooms, but a holistic environment that shapes the future through the efforts of youth and instills values of cooperation and dedication. He urged his peers to make the most of their university years by acquiring knowledge and building character, becoming pioneers in serving their nation.
The ceremony featured a musical performance by students Asaad Al-Sunaidar and Mohammed Sharafi, which was met with enthusiastic engagement from university leaders and parents. The event concluded with the honoring of the Dean’s List students, as the rector, deans, and department heads ascended the stage to present certificates of excellence in an atmosphere filled with pride in academic achievement.
