As part of national efforts to enhance the quality of higher education and regulate its outcomes, the rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haider, along with the Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Hameed AShuja'a, participated in the productive workshop dedicated to discussing and approving the National University Classification Document for Yemeni universities. The workshop was held on Saturday, 19,1446, (17,5, 2025).
The workshop was organized under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Professor Hassan Abdullah Al-Sa'di, and implemented by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council, marking a strategic step towards developing the university education system and achieving academic excellence standards.
The event witnessed high-level attendance from the rector of the university, representatives of academic institutions, and relevant entities, where the comprehensive national classification document for universities was discussed. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, encourage excellence, and set future priorities for the development of higher education institutions.
Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haider, the rector of the university, emphasized that 'The National Classification Document serves as a reference framework and a qualitative standard to ensure the quality of academic and administrative performance. It is a strategic step towards achieving academic fairness, equal opportunities among universities, and motivating them towards institutional and research excellence.'
He further stated that Ar-Rasheed Smart University's participation in this workshop reflects its deep commitment to actively engaging in national academic reform pathways. He stressed the importance of adopting classification as a planning and developmental tool rather than merely an evaluative measure, contributing to strengthening universities' capabilities to keep pace with global transformations and local development requirements.
