In a scene that reflects the growing academic movement within Ar-Rasheed Smart University, the university welcomed a high-level ministerial committee on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to closely examine the implementation of the credit hours system. This system is one of the most important modern educational frameworks that enhances student independence and opens new horizons for them to confidently shape their futures.

From the moment the committee arrived, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, showcasing the university's seriousness in advancing academic practices and improving the educational process. Leading the welcome was Professor Abdul Lateef Haidar, President of the University, who greeted the committee members, including Professor Jamal Derham, representative of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, and Professor Munir Al-Makhlafi, representative of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Board, along with Dr. Abdulhameed AShuja'a, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Khalid Ali Al-Khidr, Secretary-General of the university, and several department heads, administrative staff, and students.

In his opening speech, the rector warmly welcomed the committee, stating: “At Ar-Rasheed Smart University, we believe that education is not merely a curriculum to be taught, but a journey of awareness and future-making. The credit hours system is one of the most important tools that provides students with the freedom to navigate their academic paths, making them active partners in designing their educational plans. We strive every day to ensure our experience becomes a model to follow, allowing students to feel genuine support that enhances their capabilities and leads them towards excellence and innovation.”

During the visit, the Student Affairs Administration, in collaboration with the IT Department, presented a demonstration of the university's online portal, showcasing the registration process, mechanisms for course selection each semester, starting from the moment the student enrolls until they complete their academic plan. The presentation highlighted the vital role of academic advisors in guiding students and supporting them in making academic decisions that align with their abilities and future ambitions.

Following this, the ministerial committee engaged in extensive discussions with various academic and administrative staff, reviewing different aspects of the credit hours system and its implementation at the university. They also addressed follow-up procedures and quality assurance methods in its execution. This is part of the committee's commitment to evaluating the system's efficiency and its alignment with quality and academic accreditation standards.

The committee also met with a sample of university students to hear their opinions on the credit hours system and to learn about their experiences with the academic procedures in place. This aims to measure their satisfaction level and evaluate the effectiveness of the system from the students’ perspective, as they are at the heart of the educational process.
