Under the patronage of the rector of Ar-Rasheed Smart University, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haider, the Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the Student Activities Administration, inaugurated the Third Ar-Rasheed University Olympics for Sports for the academic year 1446 (2024–2025) on the morning of Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the university campus. This event reflects the university's commitment to promoting sports activities and their role in developing students' mental and physical skills, in line with its mission to build a well-rounded student personality.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Dean of faculty of Finance and Business, Professor Dr. Saif Salam Al-Hakimi, the Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Abdulhameed AShuja'a, the Secretary-General of the University, Mr. Khaled Ali Al-Khadher, along with several academic and administrative staff members and university students

In his opening remarks, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdul Khaleq Hadi Tawwaf, emphasized that Ar-Rasheed University Olympics is a distinguished sports event that brings together university students from various disciplines to compete in activities including football, chess, billiards, table tennis, and gym sports. He highlighted that the Olympics reflect the university's dedication to fostering sportsmanship, instilling values of fair competition, teamwork, and discipline among students.

He added that sports activities play a pivotal role in shaping a well-rounded student character, contributing to their physical and mental well-being while creating a positive and dynamic university environment. He also expressed his happiness with the large number of students participating in various games, hoping that the competitions would serve as a platform to discover and nurture talents in preparation for local tournaments, particularly inter-university championships.

On his part, the rector of the university, Professor Dr. Abdul Latif Haider, delivered a keynote address in which he reiterated the university's commitment to holistic student development, extending beyond academic aspects to include physical, moral, and cognitive growth. He pointed out that sports play a central role in enhancing personal growth, reinforcing values of success and embracing challenges, and achieving physical and mental balance.

At the conclusion of his speech, the rector of the university expressed his gratitude to the Deanship of Student Affairs, the General Secretariat, the Student Activities Management Team, and the Marketing and Media Team for their outstanding efforts in organizing this event, wishing everyone success and excellence.

The ceremony also included honoring the students who secured top positions in the faculties League Championship as part of the Second Ar-Rasheed University Olympics for Sports. The honored activities included football, table tennis, billiards, chess, football gym, PlayStation FIFA football, and Jakaroo. The university's football team was also honored for its efforts and active participation in representing the university in inter-university championships. Additionally, the team coach, Captain Khaled Najad, was recognized for his outstanding role in training the team during the second championship among governmental and private universities and community faculties, organized this year by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.

This year, 365 male and female students are participating in the Third Ar-Rasheed University Olympics, competing in five sports: football, table tennis, billiards, chess, and football gym. This event is part of the university's strategy to promote student activities and support sports excellence among its students
